Mindfulness meditation is a type of attentional brain training adapted for use in healthcare and can be described as a way of developing the capacity to pay attention in a particular way that helps to reduce the tendency to ruminate and over-think pain and health problems.

When you have had pain for a long time, chances are you have a pretty good idea about what works and what doesn't. After a thorough initial assessment, we will come up with a list of options to best treat your pain problem. Marelle will assist you to make decisions and therapy is then focused on strategies to make small, lasting changes over time.

Marelle has lectured to tertiary dance students on biomechanics and injury prevention, and has been involved in screening dancers at entry to tertiary dance for many years. She has modified this screening process to also include younger dancers for injury prevention, technique improvement and to assess individual suitability for the demands of dance.
